NOF kongressen 2020 er desværre aflyst.
Dansk Ortopædisk Selskab har d. 10. april modtaget nedenstående fra NOF:
In light of the Corona crisis the NOF Excom has been in close contact with the congress organisation. Frequent Zoom Meetings resulted in the following: As you will all realise, the NOF Centennial Congress will not take place this year. Although we are in discussion with the PCO/Hotel/congress venue about the costs and a formal definite cancellation, due to restrictions in accessibility of locations, travel, gatherings of more than 3-5 individuals etc., it is impossible to organise a NOF Congress.
We all, in particular the Norwegian Orthopaedic Federation and congress committee, are very disappointed; a great event was ready to go! But, as NOF Excom, we feel confident that cancelling now and finding another date in 2021, would be the best.
The NOF Excom has the following planned:
- The NOF Congress will be formally cancelled. All participants will be notified.
- All participants will get their costs (congress fee and hotel costs if booked by our PCO) refunded.
- The cancellation text will be drafted with our lawyer to make sure we minimize the possible cancellation costs.
- The idea is to use the dates of the NOF Spring meeting 2021 for a NOF Centennial Congress 2021 (most probable 2-4 June 2021).
- We propose to try to organise an Autumn Meeting (instead of a Spring meeting 2021).
Attached are the minutes of our NOF Excom meeting yesterday.
If you have any comments/input on the proposed strategy of the Excom please let me know. Coming Thursday (April 16th) we have an Excom Zoom Meeting.
Happy Easter, stay healthy and kind regards!
